CDM-Coordinators (CDM Regulations 2007):

Serious accidents and fatalities still occur on construction sites today. Consequently, the government in 1995 introduced The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 1994 to overcome this problem. With the regulations being amended (now the CDM Regulations 2007), more responsibility has been placed upon the Client to ensure the contractor is suitably competent for the specific building works.

Acting as CDM Co-ordinators our involvement is usually as follows:

• Advise and assist the client with his/her duties.

• Notify HSE (The Health and Safety Executive).

• Co-ordinate health and safety aspects of design work and cooperate with others involved with the project.

• Facilitate good communication between client, designers and contractors.

• Liaise with principal contractor regarding ongoing design.

• Identify, collect and pass on pre-construction information.

• Prepare/update health and safety file.
